Storms delay shipments, routes change without warning, and customer expectations keep climbing. Each delay impacts your bottom line and your ability to deliver. But what if your supply chain teams could all instantly know about disruptions, quickly find solutions, and keep logistics running smoothly—all within Microsoft Teams?
That’s our vision for harnessing the full potential of humans and AI agents, bringing them together to work smarter for you. Blue Yonder and Microsoft are reimagining collaboration, making it possible for people and intelligent agents across your supply chain to anticipate issues, act decisively, and keep operations on track.
A new kind of teamwork
To see how that looks, we’ve developed a video, that shows how we are designing for the future of supply chain management. It starts with a severe storm threatening a critical delivery. A truck, loaded with temperature-sensitive perishables, is suddenly at risk. Hundreds of miles away, the transportation manager receives an alert in Microsoft Teams with details of the potential delay and risks to the cargo.
With one click, the transportation manager adds a Blue Yonder logistics agent along with the carrier into a Teams channel to collaborate on a solution. The AI agent then proposes an optimal alternate route that adds minimal distance, maintaining roughly the same arrival time while avoiding additional costs. The carrier approves the new route with a single click, and a mobile notification instantly updates the driver’s route.
The logistics agent then signals a Blue Yonder warehouse operations agent with details. It analyzes the situation and alerts the warehouse team, providing a recommendation on how to adjust appointment details. The team receives and approves the agent’s recommendation, automatically updating arrival time, while canceling the original slot and securing the earliest appointment available. The warehouse manager, recognizing the load as high-priority, confirms staff availability to ensures smooth unloading.
What once required hours of phone calls, emails, and back-and-forth is resolved in minutes. The result: reduced risk of product spoilage, improved efficiency, reduced operational costs and emissions and, most of all, happy customers whose product is received as planned —all achieved through seamless collaboration between humans and their AI agents, inside Microsoft Teams.
